The University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds anchor the DGC and participate each year as our home province CIS entrant. For 2011-12 the V-Reds will try to build on last year's strong second-place regular season finish.
 
Acadia Axewomen made huge strides in 2010-11, and this year add more young talent to the roster with promising NS high school recruits Carlie MacDonald and Melissa Gottschall as well as CEGEP transfer Rita Sibo. 
 
St FX X-Women rode a strong second half of the 2010-11 regular season to fourth place finish at last year's CIS National Championships. The X-Women will look to get even stronger this year with the arrival of Riverview all-star and former Canadian National Cadette Team
member Vanessa Pickard.

      

             

 

The University of Saskatchewan Huskies, last year's CIS National Silver Medalists, are the first team from the Canada West conference to attend the Don Grant Classic.

 

Making their first appearance at our event will be last year's Quebec Conference champion Université Laval,

featuring Moncton native and National Developmental Team member Elyse Jobin.


The University of Prince Edward Island Panthers return to the event this year. UPEI's young, improving team features two former Riverview High standouts, 2nd yr forward Jenna Jones and rookie guard Katie Donahoe.
